About Ziphrae
Every number hides a letter. Ziphrae is a word puzzle game built on famous quotes: each line from a classic book becomes a cryptogram where the same number always stands for the same letter. Draw letter cards from the deck, place them in the right boxes and watch the quote appear.
It is part word game, part card strategy: the deck decides which letters you hold, and you decide where they go. Each solved quote uncovers a piece of a landscape in your album, and every point you score counts toward the weekly leaderboard.
- A word puzzle in 7 languages: 60 famous quotes in English, Italian, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese and Russian, all from books in the public domain
- Shakespeare, Austen, Dickens, Dante, Cervantes, Victor Hugo, Goethe, Camões, Tolstoy and many more: author, work and year appear when you solve the quote
- A deck of letter cards: tap it to deal 5 cards onto 5 piles, and new cards cover the old ones, so choose what to place and when
- Pick a card and then a box, or a box and then a card: every box with the same number lights up
- Three letters start revealed, and a number turns green once all its boxes are filled
- Three lives: each letter in the wrong box costs one
- Up to 280 points per cryptogram, with a bonus for every life left and for solving without a reshuffle
- An album of landscapes: each page has 6 pieces, and the sixth reveals the whole panorama, from an aurora over a fjord to a volcano at dusk, drawn just for your album
- Weekly leaderboard: when the week closes, the first ten players win the medal of their position, ten medals to collect, with your results week by week
- Choose the language of the quotes apart from the language of the app
- The level in progress is saved at every move
- Soft sounds and optional vibration
- Available in 10 languages
A few minutes of word puzzles a day keep your logic sharp: the first pages hold short quotes to warm up, and the brain teasers grow longer as your album fills. Every Sunday a new week of the leaderboard begins.
Ziphrae shows ads: a banner on the home, leaderboard and medals screens and, now and then, an ad between levels, never while you solve a cryptogram. Videos are always your choice: watch one for an extra life or to reshuffle the deck. An optional purchase removes the ads and gives you lives and reshuffles at once, without videos.
