About Granular
Granular is a falling sand game: a physics sandbox of living pixels. Paint elements with your finger and watch them fall, flow, burn and react: sand piles up, water levels out, fire races through the plants and lava turns to stone the moment it meets water.
Play in an open sandbox with no rules, or take on 8 challenges built around the simulation. As in every good sand simulation, the fun is in mixing things that should not meet and seeing what happens.
- 13 elements to paint, plus an eraser: sand, water, stone, fire, plant, lava, oil, ice, salt, seed, metal, battery and lightning
- Real reactions: water puts out fire in a puff of steam, plants drink water and grow, seeds sprout, salt melts ice, oil floats on water and burns for a long time
- Electricity: batteries send pulses along metal, and lightning sets things on fire, boils water and turns sand into glass
- Sandbox with a particle counter, three brush sizes, pause and clear. You can keep painting while paused, then resume and watch it all react at once
- 8 challenges, each with a goal and a progress bar: put out a forest fire, fill a leaking vase, guide lava past the water, hold back a flood, close a short circuit and more
- Cleared challenges are saved, and you can play them in any order
- Crisp pixel art and sound that follows what moves on screen: sand rustles, water gurgles, fire crackles, steam hisses
Granular is a pixel sandbox for anyone who played with sand, water and fire as a kid and still would: a pocket physics toy, a relaxing simulation and a handful of puzzles in one.
Sand, water, stone, fire, plant, lava and the eraser are yours from the start. Oil, ice, salt and seed come with Granular Complete; metal, battery and lightning come with the Electric elements pack, also part of Complete. Any locked element can be tried for 10 minutes by watching a video.
The game shows ads between challenges and in the challenge list. Granular Complete and No ads, optional in-app purchases, remove them.
